After a year of hard work fundraising to replenish our Grants Fund, SSIT is delighted to have made a number of grants to individuals. There are more in progress. Rita Harris pictured, received her new Twion wheels just before Christmas. SSIT has also helped provide an all-terrain handcycle, allowing Jeremy Mitchell to explore local cycle trails with his family, and adjustable profiling double beds for Peter in Southampton and Simon in Surrey (an outpatient of the Salibury spinal unit). Powered add-ons like the Twion wheels remain the most popular items that SSIT is asked to help fund, with grants to Lee Wilson (Twion) and John Cressey (Smartdrive) increasing their independence and range.
With 8 more grants in progress, SSIT needs a regular flow of donations, charity grants and fundraising income to keep the Grants Fund topped up and ready to respond. Please donate if you can, and get in touch if you have fundraising ideas and would like to help support our work. Thank You!
