The Big Bike Challenge 20th June 2020 – 200 miles in one day
Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist seeking a challenge or simply looking for a fresh goal to boost your fitness, we’d love you to take part in our annual Big Bike Challenge. The route through the South West takes you to some of the finest British countryside starting and finishing in the historic City of Salisbury, visiting Cheddar Gorge (66 miles), Burnham on Sea (81 miles), Muchelney (112 miles), and Christchurch (173 miles) before returning to Salisbury.
Despite the physical challenge of completing the distance, the ride is first and foremost a group event. Teamwork, enthusiasm and motivation are the essential elements, it is a ride, not a race!
All entries are well supported throughout the day. each entry receives an entry pack (vest, goodies bag, sponsorship forms, training hints etc).
The support crews will be along the route with water, food and mechanical support. Breakfast is served at Wincanton, lunch at Mulcheny, tea at Higher Ansty and Pie & Mash at Christchurch. There will be Physios and Masseurs on hand at lunch and tea stops.
The aim is to help you raise the sponsorship that will pay for 2 hand cycles or other equipment that will allow people with spinal cord injuries to enjoy a better life.
