Superhero Series – Winter Wonderwheels
This celebrity festive para sport Superhero Tri is part of the Superhero series – the brainchild of former Paralympian Sophia Warner – is big, bold, gutsy and is the UK’s one and only disability sports series for the Everyday Superhero. Held at Dorney Lake Windsor, the Superhero Tri offers three epic distances and three ways to take part (solo, team or sidekick team race), meaning a competitor can do as little or as much as they wish, with as little or as much support as they need.
The Superhero series is fully inclusive to anyone, as long as one team member classes themselves as having a disability. The organisers go as far as saying “If you want to use your powerchair or any other gadget we make it possible. In fact, as far as we’re concerned anything goes.”
We are looking for Everyday Superheroes to cycle, walk, run, push/be pulled, or anything in between around Dorney’s spectacular lake. Choose between challenges of 1km, 5km and 10km, so there’s something for everyone.
All types of gadgets and gismos are welcome, from day chairs, handcycles, walking frames and trikes to tandems, race runners, blades and bikes.
A highlight of every Superhero event is the ‘Celebrity Challenge’ where big names of sport and screen unite with Superhero teams, to take on the super challenges.
Festive fun will be the focus at this family-friendly event, so add plenty of Christmas sparkle to those Santa & Superhero costumes!
