Southern Spinal Injuries Trust and Superhero Tri
SSIT has Fundraising Places for Team and Individuals for the 2019 Superhero Series.
There are 2 Events in 2019
SuperHero Tri on 17th August 2019
Winter Wonderwheels on 1st December 2019
Each event offers The Super Heroes That You Are the opportunity to take part in a national event at Dorney Lake – where Team GB race and win Gold, Silver and Bronze. The event will be on TV (Channel 4 – presented by Claire Balding and supported by Celebrity Team Captains including Johnny Peacock, Mike Tindall, Alan Hills and Sophie Christiansen.
SUPERHERO TRI – 17th August 2019
SSIT has places for 6 Teams or 18 individual sprint places
Teams – Unite with friends, family or other SSIT Beneficiaries to create your team. Each team can have as many Sidekicks (helpers to push, pull, swim or ride with you) as you need.
Teams decide on which option they wish to enter:
- Sprint Superhero Tri – 150 m Swim, 3 km Ride and 1 km Run
- Half Superhero Tri – 400 m Swim, 10 km Ride and 2.5 km Run
- Full Superhero Tri – 750 m Swim, 20 km Ride and 5 km run
Remember even if you can’t swim, ride or run – a SIDEKICK can pull, push, pedal or ride with you. A Team must have one member who considers him or herself as being disabled.
FLY SOLO – The same options as above – you choose – but you have to take part in each of the disciplines (you can still have SIDEKICK ASSISTANCE)
WINTER WONDERWHEELS – 1st December 2019
SSIT has 6 Individual Places for Superheroes to Go Solo or to roll with a team of 4 or a family of 5.
Individuals can cycle, run, walk or be pushed (or anything in between) – you can use gadgets, gismos, powered wheelchairs etc. You decide which distance to enter:
- 1 km
Last year Edward Bridge-Stille and family entered Winter Wonderwheels and raised funds for SSIT. This year we are looking to make a much larger impression and to raise funds for SSIT Beneficiaries.
