About us
SSIT is a regional charity, set up in September 2006, to support the Duke of
Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre (DOCSTC) in Salisbury, and its patients. The
objectives of SSIT are simple: to offer direct help to spinally injured patients
and to provide the DOCSTC with extra resources to improve its facilities. Patients may apply to SSIT for financial help with anything from alterations to their home to the provision of a special mattress for their bed, a simple ramp for a doorway or even a suitable wheelchair. Such equipment can make an enormous difference and can help a person regain their dignity, enabling greater independence and participation in society again.
